DURBAN PRODUCERS NEEDED ( DJ LAB)

Gagasi's very own hip hop dj (DJ LAB) is calling all beatmakers
around Durban to step forward and submit their profiles to
(djlab@establishedpro.com) and they'll be picking which ones to
profile on the new sounding Hip Hop Show that'll be coming on air soon
on Gagasi FM.

Besically they wanna know who you are,where you from,what type of
style you do,details of artists you've worked with and what are you
currently up to......i think.
So if you're a dope beatmaker this is your chance to let people know
who you are.

I know a couple of beatmakers who deserve to be on this show....should
i name em?

FROM SOCIALLY VAIN TO SOCIALLY TRAINED.

THE INTRO:
If you take a look around,you'll probably notice that everybody has
a cell phone on their hands,If it's not a phone,it's a TAB, if it's
not a Tab,it's LAPTOP,if its not a Laptop,its a PC...haaaa! kiddin,you
can't carry that shit around lol
Anyway my point is everything is going to the inter-web,The internet
is the way to go and every artist that wants to push their stuff to a
wider audience,connect with other artists,the net is the place to
be.kwaphela nje!

THE GOOD: Most durban kats are starting to get it
now.facebook accounts are popping up in numbers,I've seen alot of kats
pushing kasimp3,mp3twit and reverbnation links on twitter.That's what
im talking about.people are connecting,sharing new info and having a
blast.

THE BAD
Kats get on these social networks and start behaving like they celebs
or some shit,they only reply to their close friends.they won't follow
back.
The onlything they seem to focus on is posting shit all the time.
90% of those posts are links to their music.
Don't get me wrong,there's nothing wrong with that, but ask yourself
"why can't i get more followers ?" "why wont anybody comment on my
statuses?" wanna know why? I'll tell you why,It's because some of you
think just cause ya'll known on the outside,everybody will be like "oh
its §*€£ £#¥ let me get his stuff" well you're wrong.
Its a whole new world in here and nobody has time for B.S

THE SOLUTION

Ok everybody is boarding the ship right,Great! Weather you're on
twitter or facebook,learn how to use these platforms,add and follow
people according to your personality,you know just to mix things up.
If you notice twitter has no limit on how many followers you should
have,use that advantage,but remember there are rules that must be
followed,samething with facebook but with facebook the limit is 5000,
then comes your groupes and fan pages.So if you're an artist, ADD
PEOPLE,FOLLOW MORE PEOPLE and stop posting the same ass links to a
maximum of 56 or 68 people all the time,links get boring guys,maybe
post four or six times a day. Nobody has data bundless to download
your music all the time,know when people are online.and keep your
online friends entertained,You ain't no celeb,you just another
follower to them,their attention to you is the same as the one you get
from a kid asking for candy to you,once you give out the candy,the kid
is gone.
CLOSING
Keep it fun and interesting all the time,you need more people to check
your links out? add people you see commenting on other people's
links,comment on your friends statuses,like other people's fan
pages,same story with twitter; Search people,use the trending
topics,FOLLOW PEOPLE BACK,the new thing on twitter is people give each
other one or two days to get a follow back and if they dont,they
unfollow those people.
NOTE: Not all of the people you follow, will be willing to follow you
back,but out of 10 atleast 4 will....just unfollow the celeb wannabes
later lol.

The SUMMARY:
The show was okay,kats got on stage did their thing everything went
great,Hidden Key Element (Q & SMG) killed it,MCHICHWA killed
it,AMABHIXA killed it and there was a band ,forgot the name of that
band but they also Killed it,aish esp..losisi wesgqebhe nje lol,she
can sing yo.

SOMETHING SHOCKING : I heard there was also a show at the Bats,now
i don't know who was performing there,but this thing of competing with
other shows has to stop,Ayanda washo kudala ukuthi he'll be doing a
show on this day,i dont think organising a show on the same day
qualifies as a smart move,NO! Anyway loyalty prevailed,the show was a
banga, but If we want the 031 movement to go somewhere.We need to stop
taking these ego trips,they costing us big time.
SOMETHING TO BE PROUD OF:
Durban hiphop is doing big things,yenza amaOTHER,the sound is
dope,amakati ayabhala ngampela,031 is definately going
somewhere.dancers were on some other shit,the DJ was on point and the
ladies came out in numbers.

SOMETHING TO BASH: The show started late due to the fact that
mceez were still busy outside stalling,(bantu time what can you say),I
didnt get to perform on the open mic set.... :-( Then again he did
say,he was going to let his friends perform and I must say it was sad
to see dope kats behleli phansi. S/O to my boi MCHICHWA for managing
to squeez in 2/1 tracks,after they were asked to perform 1 track each
ha ha ha<= That's gangsta,aish the crowed was abit unforgiving to
other mceez though,ey bekunzima..... and lastly The sitting down on
chairs thing kuma hiphop shows is fucked up,i hate it,i hate it,i hate
it.but what can one do? ..nothing
