So the other day i had a chance to chat with one on the rasing stars
in Durban,he's name is Wele ,if you don't know who am i talking about
read the convo ,please bare in mind this is my first time interviewing
an artist
Stupeed kid : Moja
Wele: Hwzt
Stupeed kid : Grand skhokho,i
don't know if you got time but i got a few questions i wanna drop by
you,is that cool ?
Wele: It cool go ahead boss
Stupeed kid :Supa! A brief discribtion of yourself and your sound nje
,where are you from, what sort of sound you do?
"Wele" Mina ngu Andile luthuli ,im a twin that's where the name
"Wele"comes from ,im from Ndwedwe but grew up kwa-Mashu ka P ,My sound
is not
different from what people hear on radio ,It's new school hip hop, i
normaly sing about what i go through and what i've gone through in
life
Stupeed kid : Funny you mention
singing, the song im listening to at the moment, one might say you're
rapping,Wich one represents you the most, singing or rapping? Nice song
by the way (Good Bye)
Wele: Thanks my brother I
like to call myself a musician not a rapper nor a singer .cause
singing has always been my first love and rapping follows after
Stupeed kid : I see,Now tell me
how old were you when you started getting involved in music? And How
did you figure out you can sing?
Wele: Feel in love with
music at the age of 10 back then I use to dance and listened to
different types of music and by age of 12 I got told by people
that I got a very good voice
When I was 11 I wrote my first ever song and it was a kwaito jam
Stupeed kid : Lol nice ,now who
would you say are your "role models" .....they put it,you know those
people you look up to
music wise or outside the music industry nje?
Wele: My dad is always
been a big part in my life he always wanted me to do music I think he
saw it in me from
young age and I dont have a artist that I would say I look up to but
mostly good music inspire me ,hip hop ,rnb or house
Stupeed kid : Ok now let's talk
collaboz,i've noticed alot of durban kats are now charging other kats
for features,im not
saying it's bad or good ,where do you stand in this ?
Wele: I think its a good
think to get the money cycling around cause money motivate people in giving the
best and at the end of the day the mixtape an artist is working is
going to get sold to people I think it is far we pay kats for features
You: And how much do
you think a durban kat, that has never had their track playlisted or
even lasted for more than two weeks on these "durban hip hop radio
shows" should charge per feature?
Wele: R150 just to say
thanks for ur effort and lending a helping hand
Stupeed kid :This is nothing compared to what i'd like to do for
Durban hip hop , i understand you're under Maffera records.now let's
say a big shot manager or a company offers you a nice
deal,he'll take you and put you in a new team ,what would you say?
Wele: Well as long as he
is also willing to take me and Maffera I will be happy ,cause alot
people think we doing it for quick fame but we do it for the love of
music
Stupeed kid : Loyalty is the key in this game
STUPEED FAST REPLY QUIZ

Wele: Outdoors
Stupeed kid : Sun or rain?

Stupeed kid : Wii or Playstation Favourate game?

Stupeed kid : Cool thanks for your time man,as much as i still have
